There was a lot of standing around and waiting for the cooler with the vaccines today at Dodger stadium. Arrived for a noon appointment. The maze of driving to get to the area where the vaccines were being administered didn’t take that long. But then the wait started.
At first there was no one there. Then people with umbrella covered carts arrived. More waiting. Suddenly a guy came running with a cooler and slowly the people with tablets started to go to individual cars and check people in. Soon you could see the vaccinators giving the shots. But, that was for the group ahead of us. They seem to wait a lot longer than 20 minutes before that group was allowed to leave. Then our group pulled forward to the stop sign. At that point it seemed like work stopped.
Looking in the side view mirror all the workers seemed to be milling for at another half hour.
Finally, a young man from CORE came up with his tablet to check me in. He then said that they had been waiting for the vaccines and he heard they were finally on the way, so he checked me it. It was quick. Show him the bar code that was part of the initial email and my Driver’s license and we were done. It didn’t take that long after that for the woman with the shot to come to the car and I felt absolutely nothing when she administered the jab.
Dickens did pretty well waiting along with me for the next 20 minutes before we were allowed to go. In all we left at 2:15 pm, 2 hours and 15 minutes. It is the Moderna vaccine, so now we wait for 28 days to do it again.
